- Friday I finished reading "The Energy Bus for Kids". The Energy Bus driver's name is Joy. She helped a student named George, and the other passengers on her bus learn 5 rules that would take them on a positive ride through life. The 5 rules she spoke of are in my first blog - August 23. Have a discussion with your child about a goal or dream they want to accomplish. It goes along with Rule #1 - Create a Positive Vision. Ask them, too, what was one great thing that happened to them today, and everyday. I hope you have lots of fabulous things to talk about.
- We also worked at creating a vision by choosing ONE word that will help them reach or move towards their vision/goal. We discuss what kind of middle school student/person they wanted to be. Ask you child the word they chose. Help them stay on their path of success.

This first days of school are in the books, and students seemed to be excited to get back at it. They were all so helpful to those needing a little help with lockers. What a cool thing to see!!!!!
In my classes, we will be following the ideas from Jon Gordon, author of The Energy Bus for Kids. It's all about positivity and setting sites on the destination of success. There are just a few simple rules/expectations: Room 315 is a “Positive Energy” classroom. The idea is staying positive to overcome challenges. So jump on the Energy Bus. 1. Create a Positive Vision. Think about having a great day. Picture/imagine yourself having a great day. 2. Fuel your ride with Positive Energy. Positive energy is the positive thoughts and emotions you think and feel, and share with others. It helps you move forward. 3. No Bullies Allowed. Stay strong and positive and know that bullies can’t drain your positive energy if you don’t let their negativity into your mind. Positivity is much more powerful than negativity!!!!!! 4. Love Your Passengers. This means you become a powerful force of positive energy and share love with your passengers. (students, friends, teachers, siblings, family) 5. Enjoy the Ride. You’re the driver and you can take your bus anywhere you want to go. To college or to a favorite place - wherever it may be. |
